This time card software has payroll reporting features that allow you to create reports according to department or shift. Other time reports are available, as is an Employee ID report. You can export all reports to Microsoft Excel and Tab, or to CSV files.
Clocking in and out on a computer is the most basic functionality of any time card software. With Time Clock MTS, employees can easily clock in with a single mouse click. The fact that employees can clock in quickly and get to work straightaway is one of the primary benefits of Time Clock MTS. Lesser programs can take up to 30 seconds for an employee to clock in. When you have hundreds of employees, this can translate into hours of downtime over the course of a year.
Some of the products we reviewed lack the ability for employees to view or print their own time cards. This is not the case with Time Card MTS. This attendance software grants your workers full access to their timecards. This has several benefits to them; chief among these is that they know exactly how much they've worked and how much they can expect their paychecks to be. It also enables them to bring discrepancies to your attention. This is especially useful for forgetful employees who may not be the best at clocking in and out at the beginning or end of their shifts.
Time Clock MTS enables you to define your company's particular sick leave and other policies directly in the software. Additionally, you have the ability to configure your business' vacation time policies into the program. Moreover, when employees take sick time or paid time off, Time Clock MTS tracks that for you, eliminating the minutia of inputting those values manually. You can define your own policies for sick leave and vacation time accrual and track both hourly and salary employees.
Other features of Time Clock MTS include the ability to specify which holidays are paid and credit them to your employees' wages. You can set up all your departments, shifts and employment types, and set any day as the start of your work week.
With Time Clock MTS reports, you can create a working-hours report that shows how many hours were worked per day. Punch-card reports show all clock-in and clock-out times and how much time elapsed. Payroll reports can be created per employee, per shift or per department. You can adjust the date range for all reports and choose to include notes at the bottom of each report. Reports can also show your company header and employee details such as a phone number and social security number. You can export your reports to Microsoft Excel and Tab, or to CSV files.
This time tracking software is missing a few report types; this is one of the drawbacks that kept it out of our number one spot. For example, Time Clock MTS omits a report that shows the employer a history of an employee's schedule or attendance record. The software also lacks an annual report, which would be especially useful for performance reviews and other end-of-year accountability tasks.
We previously mentioned that this software exports to spreadsheet programs. While this is useful, the software lacks the ability to directly export that information into a payroll application. While the spreadsheets can be imported into most payroll software solutions, it's just another step that could be handled within the application. We hope to see Time Clock MTS correct this omission in further incarnations of the program.
Time Clock MTS is the easiest program to learn and navigate of all the software we reviewed. The interface is likeable and the help documentation is clearly written.
Timesheets MTS Software offers both telephone and email support. They were quick to respond to our questions. The company also has a FAQs section and a user forum on its website. The help documentation is easy to follow.
The ability for employees to quickly and easily clock in and out is the primary benefit of Time Clock MTS. Its intuitive interface and customization options make it a very attractive time clock application. However, it misses the top spot by omitting some key features such as annual reports and the ability to export data directly into a payroll application.
